We’ve been hit really hard. That’s an understatement. As hard as we try we just can’t bring our vet bills under control. It pains my heart so much but our most recent fundraisers have failed, it’s so difficult these days to raise money via raffles or BBQs or tins in shops as you can imagine. That’s why, with the end of the financial year nearly here, I’m asking you to chip in.
To chip in for Chase. Chase came into our care as his owner could no longer look after him due to her health and needing more support. We took him on knowing he would need dental work and it has been confirmed that he'll need extensive dental work with multiple extractions needed.
To chip in for precious Zac who arrived from a pound with his siblings when they were 10 weeks old. All were healthy but within two weeks Zac become gravely ill. He was rushed to an after hours emergency vet and was admitted immediately. Zac needed to have a blood transfusion to have any chance of survival. At such a young age his prognosis was unsure.
After fluids and blood tests he returned to his amazing carer late the next afternoon. He has been returning to the vet weekly for 7 weeks for them to retest his PCV levels.. Zac will need to remain in our care for at least two months with the carer keeping a close eye for any symptoms of him deteriorating if he remains stable they will do more tests in 2 months.
There’s also precious Mia who at 9 weeks came to us very underweight. Within 24 hours of arriving from an outback pound, Mia had lost her appetite and had diarrhoea. Mia started to vomit and was becoming lethargic. She was tested for multiple things and was positive for giardia. Within 48 hours she was rushed back to the out of hours emergency vets with her symptoms reappearing and needing stronger, longer lasting medications..
